I have a stand alone 300 amp alternator just for my system an a yellow top battery goin to 2 d4s lto 6.0 with a jp630 on a sundown salt 4k on a sundown zv5 18 an voltage still drops from 14.8 down. To 11"s
It's not connected to my other alternator.. it runs to my battery in the back with 0/2 gauge ofc wireWhat is a "stand-alone alternator" to you?
I know what it means to me.
How is it mounted? What belt does it utilize? Curious. It's not connected to my other alternator.. it runs to my battery in the back with 0/2 gauge ofc wire
Beautiful but waaaay overkill.Sounds like a current choke, I'm not there but is everything grounded to a fare thee well? Stand alone current may need dedicated grounds from the alt case to frame then from the rear batteries to the same frame. Electrical needs a path to work...

Battery to frame, in back and up front. The amout of wire I've thrown at the same problem makes my wallet cringe. Dual output lugs on the alt just makes excessive wire more needed imo. Fyi... thats a Jp63 setup above done by someone who doesn't do it twice. 3 runs of 2/0 from the alt to the battery delete with excessive wiring in back (cmaxx in the rear) and what you see is a battery delete. Playing with power and doing it right is baller territory. The piece de resistance...

Imo a jp63 needs a ton of electrical having a 600a draw on paper. Above you see 3 runs of 2/0 to the battery delete. I wonder what's clinging to the frame on the run back from there. I started a thread about this build but I'm just a fly on the wall. I suppose we'll see.
This was a legit 3K setup so take a look and draw your own conclusions...

Good luck!
If you could would you too? The user is I think going to go 2ohm/.5ohm on a JP63. Depending on his moods I suppose... hahaBeautiful but waaaay overkill.
