The manual states nothing about idle current. Or it is somewhere in one of the paragraphs.

I think around 1.8 - 2.2 amps so Negligible, why?

It is drawing about 4 amps at idle. Doesn't seem to over heat though. Thought that was a bit much.

4 amps is high. Not an issue if you normally do not listen for hours while puttering around.

Class A/B, right? If I recall, these little 2x30 watt jems could best several hundred watts, mono. One of RF's endearing qualities on most of their equipment, you always knew you were getting more than you paid for.
