Some would argue that relying on opec and shutting down domestic production raises prices. The federal government controls permitting for drilling. They can deny permits and affect the supply, which affects prices. That's one way to affect prices as an administration. Shutting down permits is environmental. What exactly does "green new deal" mean to you?

If the President has interest in oil production such as stocks in oil companies then yes, of course he/she would want higher prices. That's more money in the Presidents pockets. Do you think oil production is done out of the kindness of peoples hearts just so we can get back and forth to work? No, it's all about money.

In a nutshell this is the reason for all of the price increases, wether it's gas, food, or whatever. You can blame Biden all you want if it makes you feel better but it's certainly not his fault. I assume everyone here is smart enough to know that the supply is "stuck" right now and so therefore prices go up. It's not hard folks.

Apparently we don’t need permits to drill oil now. In Bobby’s world we can all just drill wherever we like without any control over it. Let’s all go make billions fast while Bobby’s law is in effect!!!
