What amp? Some amps are noisy.

That looks like a sheerly burp amp. though I can't say I've ever personally ran an amp that looked like that.

It looks serviceable but like I said noisy. I don't think it will hurt the speaker though

It's a rockville DB Comp5. It has a limiter switch to be able to burp the subs. Limiter is turned off right now.

Well, if this is a full bridge, this is the second funky waveform that we've seen, and that's science.

I wonder if that's a mosfet thing. I thought it could be a alternator pulsation filtering thing with the amp, but now I wonder if those peaks and dips are part of mosfets boosting power, like turning on and off. Something like a harsh, immediate circuit close for the amp to give more power could cause that. Like on/off/on/off a lot, and the on/off at a rapid pace could be those peaks and dips within the 40ish hz waveform.

Can you tell what frequency is there besides the 40ish hz wave?

It's going to be a higher frequency, since it's inside of the 40ish hz wave.

Where is the probe connected? I'm not familiar with that scope, but it appears the bottom line is 1vac, meaning you're missing half the picture. Can you move the wave up and down on the display?

I just learned that's a $40 oscilloscope with a digital display.

My vote is that's the closest it can display to a clean sine wave.
