Amp turns off... still

Okay here we go again. My amp will turn off, when the bass hits, but only if the bass hits well im accelerating. I've checked grounds quite a bit but will gladly do so more, I've installed big 3, a nice battery, and a HO alternator. I'm using a PRX1000.1 Memphis Amp, with 2 10in 600Watt alpine-s, and a jensen 500watt 4chan powering 4 alpine type-R. I'm confused as hell, and really don't know where to go next. To make things even weirder it sometimes works flawlessly where as sometimes i literally have to turn my gain down to make it even function or else it just keeps power cycling. Sometimes both amps restart, and sometimes If I have A.C going, even that cycles. To me it sounds like a grounding issue. My truck is a 2008 f150. Any ideas?

Is your voltage spiking when the bass hits? I had an alternator pin issue where my alt pins would vibrate out of the alt partially and my voltage would spike and it would cause the amp to go into high voltage protection. Do you monitor your voltage while driving?

CHECK YOUR ALT PINS AND SEE IF THE ALTERNATOR WIRING HARNESS IS LOOSE WHEN IT'S PLUGGED INTO THE ALT.

I've had that happen before because my explorer had basically no exhaust and it vibrated the truck a lot, and it would vibrate my alt wiring harness out of the alternator enough that I lost voltage control and I would spike to like almost 18 volts

Buck just brought up a good point on another thread. Have you checked the subs' impedance?
What does that have to do with the supply voltage?

They are ok. I am starting to suspect a bad sub amp. If an amp requires more voltage during operation, an alternator cannot supply bursts of higher voltage, for it has the regulator to keep it in check.
Amps don't choose their supply voltage in this sense. Amps can't force the alternator to create a higher voltage.

If the subs are below 1ohm, they will make the amp work harder, push more voltage if you will. And if the amp is bad, it may pull/push/micturate/defecate or whatever is going on in this cicuit. Cover as many bases as you can.

Same as above.

That's not how electronics work. It's great you are trying to help, but you are guessing and making stuff up. Lower impedance results in more current, not more voltage. Regardless, that is downstream of the issue here. The apparent issue is supply voltage. You can draw down supply voltage with excessive current, but you can't draw up supply voltage because the amp feels like it. Covering as many bases as you can implies you don't know how to effectively troubleshoot a problem. You might get lucky and land on the same conclusion, but it's a lot more time-consuming and often more expensive. As they say, "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then".

Well I know that. But in the previous posts all else has been covered. New battery, new ho alternator, big 3, remote wiring, grounding points. So what else is there left besides downstream? I am making educated guesses, for that is what troubleshooting is all about. I do not like making this man go through all these steps, but if it yeids a solution? Hell yeah! We have all learned something new.

This is a given. That is why I stated earlier that an alternator cannot supply voltage above it's set point. Hence the question,"Where are these 17.2v coming from?".

At this point I'll leave you to argue with yourself, because you are saying stupid **** and then agreeing with me when i tell you it's stupid. I mean he hasn't replaced his windshield yet; think that'll help? "Gotta cover all bases!"

No need to get upset. That benefits nobody and raises you blood pressure. "Replace the windshield." Now you are just being silly.

Different things sound silly to different levels of expertise. That's probably why I think most of your "advice" in this thread sounds silly.
