Metered The 4-8's Today, Standard Cab Dodge

We hooked up the meter today on the 4- VFL 8's in my standard cab Dodge. The amp is a Sundown SFB3K. 148.5 on a burp and 148.0 on music. The peak frequency was 32hz.

The guy before me had two Skar ZVX 12's on 6,000 watts and did a 145.5. He wasn't happy after he saw what my 8's did on 3K.

My little 8's tore it up. His 12's peaked at like 38. My 8's peaked at 32. His box was too small I think. These VFL's love the lows in this box. 4.1 cubes net tuned to 33hz. The guys were shocked when they saw 148.5

What does that mean? We had driver's side door open and the meter was in the passenger's front kick panel.

I believe it's harder to hit higher SPL's when the doors are closed and the windows up as less air can escape the vehicle. I think.

I think your numbers are fine.

We tried it multiple ways. Not bad for an $1,100 bass set-up that included the $300 custom box.
