OK, im buying a new 2021 f150 in two months. Looking to build a badass system. What would you build?

I have $1000-1300 for sub amp
$1000 or so for 4/5 channel amp
$1200 or so for with three 10s or four 8s. Aiming at the 8s
$1000 or so for interior speakers. I was hoping to maintain a 3 way speaker but if it doesn't make much difference and component speaker with tweeter is fine. I would also like a center channel but not sure if it make any difference or a waste. Rather not soend crazy money on sound processors.

As of now, Im looking at these.
Kicker kxa2400.1 for subs
Focal or Hertz 4 or 5 channel amp
Memphis audio or Sundown 8" subs
Interior speakers not sure yet.

Let me know what you think and why.

That is my thinking as well..damn with that kind of dough to spend on a system you can do quite a bit. To be honest idk how I would go if I had that kind of cash to use. At that kind of cash you can do just about anything.

Good luck and this will be interesting to see what is recommended.

While this is a bit of a blowhard post ill play along...
4 ssa f8l in a gately audio box powered by a 3k that makes rated and is somewhat efficient.
Audiocontrol 800.4 with buit in dsp ran active on some separates like Dayton audio reference series and German silk tweeters like massive ctII if you can find them.
0 awg ofc wiring kit from knuconcepts, extra wire or big3 kit, Group 31 agm main and at least 1 other agm or lifepo4 lithium battery.

and whatever for sub amp

Withouts proper sound processing, your whole 4 grand system will just sound like a 500 dollar system just saying. Yes it makes that much of a difference.

Thanks bud. So you like the AudioControl amps? I know they make good sound processors. I was leaning on the Kicker 2400.1 based on reviews and dyno. It pulled 3500w rms at 1ohm so I figured it would have gobs of extra power. I would be content with a good quality 1500wrms power for subs.

Now let me go a bit deeper into processing and staging. I've been building mediocre systems for 25 years, but now I can afford to do it right.

What are your thoughts on a center channel speaker and 3 way component door speakers with 6.5" sub, a mid, and a tweeter? Does a center channel help much and do the 3 way components do much vs the standard 2 way?

And last, what about sound processing. I have never used one before and wanted to know your thoughts.

Thanks Jeff, I've been building basic crap systems for 25 years so I have a basic understanding, I've just never used (cause I was too poor) any sound processors so I just dont know the value.
What would you recommend and is there value in doing center channel or anything like an 8 channel system or is it more an overkill that isn't needed?

with newer vehicles especially loaded vehicles with 10" touchscreens and nav, factory back up cams, DSP is a must when adding amplifiers IMO. it may be best you have a shop take on some of the work maybe? you're in bloomington, ill? I might suggest Rival Mobile Electronics John the owner has been doing car stereo practically his entire life

I was looking at those Sundown subs and the JL amp. Never heard of the speakers but definitely interested in the 3 way components. Not sure how much better then 2 way, but I would think they would sound better. Just not very common. Ill take a closer look.

Are you planning on going base model stereo or premium? Sony/ B&O?
So that is still up in the air. Prefer a base model system so I can do it all, but Im getting the 12" stereo for sure. Sync 4 and finally no cord for Android auto.
Just ***** that to get one upgrade you need a $3500 package. So Im just not sure yet. The 2021 is delayed because covid and assembly was slowed, but as soon as they hit the dealer Im going to spec one out.

Im actually in Crystal Lake. I was in Bloomingdale 8 years ago, lol, just got back on here.

I definitely want the 12" Sync 4 wireless android auto.

There are bluetooth amplifiers. You can just use your phone or an I Pod as the music source and not touch the radio.
