Subwoofer only works with some songs

I have a kicker L7 15 running in a skar audio 1200watt amp. I’m having a problem getting my subwoofers to work like they’re supposed to. I can listen to one song and the sub will hot super hard throughout the entire song and the I play another song and it’s like the sub isn’t even on. I hooked up a different sub and amp this check if it would be better but it’s the same thing even with a different sub and amp hooked up. I checked all wires and everything seems to be good. Solid power and ground connections along with remote and rcas all good but I have no idea why it’s doing this. Can anyone explain what could be causing this problem.

What is your music source? Does it do the same thing when playing your FM radio or Sirius FM?
Are the Low pass and high pass filters set correctly on your amp?

Are you using a stock head unit and an LOC or an aftermarket with pre-outs?

you more than likely have cabin gain goin on with certain songs, this will give you a huge peak on some lower frequencies (vehicle dependent).....sh*tty recorded audio will also rob ya of bass

What can I do to get my sub to hit consistently with any song I play. I played the same song that doesn’t hit in my car in a friends car and it hits super hard

Try removing one RCA from your LOC and seeing if the bass response is more consistent. If so you've got a cancellation issue by mixing up your high level input wires into the LOC and the mixer is robbing most of your signal. LOC hookups often make that mistake and some amps are able to address it better than others. It's pretty easy to do if you mix up the colors.

Other than that I'm thinking you've got a cheap LOC that robs you of base response as the volume goes up. Stock systems prevent bass from getting through the louder it gets to spare the speakers, so if your system is like that a cheapo LOC won't help you at all. You'll want something more like an audiocontrol lc2i which can bring some of the bass back to a regular level. They're called active LOCs as opposed to passive, so they also give way stronger signal output which will help in other ways.

Stock headunit I can’t use a aftermarket headunit all the car controls are through the headunit 2016 Dodge Challenger
thats your issue. stock head unit and LOC. head units cut off bass signals completely, now you are trying to amplify a non existent signal.

You need a dsp with signal summing, factory signal restoration and de -equalization capabilities. Or you just bypass the head unit completely for audio and leave it as just a decoration while you actually stream music to a dsp/head unit hidden away somewhere.

You'll never achieve anything proper with a stock head unit as a source.

You can add a passive x-over between the HK harness and Logic sub. Just know that an inline passive will also affect the HK sub's frequency curve...
