The problem with COVID is these people not working are 1. not going to let anyone tell THEM what to do. 2. Are having withdraws from not working so they feel they have to be doing something. 3. Along comes this brand new thing where all cops are hunting black men and BAM!!!! Now everyone has their excuse to ignore COVID and go play outside and come up with excuses to stay outside and when they get told no, they burn down the cities. Those phuckers!!
Covid-19 isn't a political issue, people who treat it as such are idiots. If you distrust the global scientific community and instead opt for a politician's word just think about how that sounds. That's not something to be proud of, it's something to be ridiculed.

That’s another issue in my opinion. If trump shut down everything, liberals would be burning him at the stake for letting the economy tank and people becoming homeless etc. He leaves it up to the states to decide what they want to do and gets burned for not shutting everything down. Isn’t the economic downfall going to cost more lives than the actual virus? With the country we live in, you can’t tell people they can’t go to work. I understand people not wanting to go to work and getting unemployment but forcing people to not work is ridiculous. I heard Biden wants me to wear a mask anytime I’m outside of my home. He can kiss my ***. In 100 degree heat I’m pretty sure the virus doesn’t survive and there’s scientific evidence it is killed in sunlight instantly.

From what I’ve read about reinfection is that scientists still aren’t convinced and early evidence shows if it’s true, it’s very rare to have severe issues.

I think liberals are using other nations as a baseline, you might get some neoliberal hacks going after trump for doing the right thing but we'll never know because he objectively did the wrong thing relative to almost every other nation. As it turns out capitalism isn't the best system for surviving a pandemic with minimal losses.

Homelessness it's pretty clear that while Trump did address evictions, albiet too late since most of them are already underway thanks entirely to the senate, he did assign a fairly promising halt of them until the elections are over. I'd be willing to take bets on whether the freeze lasts until the pandemic is over and not just until after the elections though.

Forcing people to not work is sort of a red herring. Non-essential work is best halted if no safety precautions can be taken. I think it's a lose lose personally, the same with reopening schools. It's somewhat clearer when you compare nations around the world though. It doesn't take a genius to see how other nations are doing, compare it with our own and see an obvious failure of leadership. Governors largely are trying to halt the spread, but the republican governors are doing the worst at that, this is just objectively true in every state with a substantial density of people anywhere in the state. I'm not lining up to **** any democratic governor's dick, I think they're full of platitude and often make stupid decisions, but NY and IL had the steepest declines in cases while Florida and Texas suffer in their ignorance, that's not something you just pretend isn't the case. One party tries and the other wants to sacrifice grandma. That's unacceptable to me.

In terms of wearing masks outside, I don't think that's realistically enforceable, but if you're around other people outside it's a good thing. About the virus not surviving sunlight, well that's bullshit. What you call instant is actually minutes. Sunlight makes it safer, but Trump lied out of his *** during that whole meeting, it's something like 3 minutes in direct mid-day sunlight.

Reinfections are still a growing scientific consensus, you're right, but there have been at least 4 cases of reinfection with the same strain. The issue in this data is that people often aren't tested in a way that actually differentiates the strain. This means that the data for reinfection requires exclusively people who have been extensively studied to be reinfected, otherwise they write it off as potentially a different strain which is old news. We received reports from Wuhan that differential strains were possible routes to reinfection as early as February or March. Still, they've shown it to be possible in different labs each time. If they had the resources to study every virus strain and which specific one everyone had I trust that the data would be complete enough to definitively make that conclusion.

You are very confident in your opinions about a topic whose statistics, and opinions from 'experts' changes monthly and weekly. With the recent release of the video of Pelosi herself not abiding by the salon closure, and not wearing a mask while doing so, and then blaming the salon owner for "setting her up"... I find it naive for someone to suggest covid has NOT been highly politicized.

If trump shut down everything
Please cite which presidential power authorizes the president to "shut down everything". Hard mode, cite the Constitution for the United States of America Article 2 (where presidential election, succession, and powers are enumerated).

Honestly I can't believe that any adult really thinks you could just shut down the whole country for even a week and expect to have a first world civilization left on the other end of it. I mean, these fuckwits realize that food doesn't come from just yelling upstairs to mom and that it takes some human actually working to have lights come on when you flick a switch, clean water come out when you turn a faucet, and poopoo disappear when you flush a toilet, right?

It’s not about me being heartless. It’s about being realistic. Pandemics are a part of life. We have all been lucky that nothing like this has happened in what, 100 years? You understand shutting down the economy is going to cost way more lives than this virus right? How many people are going broke because they can’t work and losing everything? I’m very fortunate to have a job and a steady paycheck to support my family.

The way I said it being nothing was a poor choice of words. I didn’t mean it as if the people dying don’t matter. I’m meaning big picture, the number isn’t all that big compared to the amount of people here. Especially when you factor in 94% of the people have underlying conditions. I know not all underlying conditions are the fault of the person but there are a lot that are self inflicted.

That’s what I’m saying. People are upset he didn’t shut everything down which is stupid because even if he wanted to, he couldn’t.

Pelosi was told by the stylist that they could have one customer inside. If you saw the video, then, you saw that she had her mask around her neck because she was getting her hair washed. Trump hasn't wore a mask since day 1 of the virus, but that's o.k.?

So a high on the totem pole politician in the most liberal state who is helping keep California closed didn’t know salons were still shut down?? That’s pathetic for one. For two, he isn’t saying it’s ok for Trump to not wear a mask but it’s hypocritical she pushes the mask wearing agenda and doesn’t have hers on. I also find it funny she’s attacking the salon owner for all of this and accepting no blame. Typical politician

Too late. People are making COVID political everyday. Especially the politicians.

And, Trump is right there trying to push this vaccine through. Probably hoping it will be available about a week before the election. What a dick move to tell Huckaby Sanders to go to North Korea and bang Kim Jong Un. Just more misogyny on his part.

The salons were open to have appointments outside. The stylist told her that the salon could have one customer inside at a time. Pelosi's mask was around her neck because they just got through washing her hair. Trump has rallies in States where gatherings are limited and social distancing is supposed to be enforced. Oklahoma and Arizona were a couple of the States. Trump even forces everybody in The White House to wear a mask, except him, of course.
