I bought a sld 10 from the yardsale and that sumbich is the stoutest little shallowmount I’ve ever seenThose SD-4’s and SLD’s look pretty nice. Deeper than the JL TW3 but have the ability to outperform output wise.

Space makes bass. You should have realistic expectations any way you attempt to get into shallow mount stuff. Google "Hoffman's Iron Law".If I go with the JL I will build this enclosure. The tech at JL said .60 (includes displacement) for each sub would be better for low end instead of the .50 that the manual says.

How much was it? Was it a dud or was it a reject due to glue or something?I bought a sld 10 from the yardsale and that sumbich is the stoutest little shallowmount I’ve ever seen
Some is better than Rockford, MTX, PPI, Soundstream and all the others from back in the day. Some of jl audio is made stateside....some
$115 I cannot find any cosmetic or mechanical defects with it and I ran it through every frequency on ucaaHow much was it? Was it a dud or was it a reject due to glue or something?
I know what JL says about the thin lines and I’m sure they are great for a shallow but I don’t buy they hit “harder” than the W6. Those thin lines have a hefty price tag on them as well. What are they going in?
If you want the space and the box hidden the do the thin lines. If you don’t care about hiding the box and can sacrifice the room, I’d do 2 regular 10’s ported
Have you thought Of maybe a higher power handling slim sub, maybe not a jl? Sundown has new ones coming out soon per their site. Sd-4 and sld series
Yeah the specs is 3.25 vs 3.65 on depth. I’m sure he has the depth to accommodate the difference. Can’t be that tight behind the seat
Isn’t that wedge box going behind the second seats? What’s the vehicle? It's not that it's tight behind the seat. It's that I don't want to lose all the room I paid so much extra for in buying a Crewmax
