What annoys the ***** outta you/pisses you off...

Yeah, America paints a sad reality right now. Too little empathy, too much hate. Broad brushes for everybody because our brains are too decrepit from a lifetime of a shitty defunded educational system and leaders who don't give a **** about the poor.
Why be empathetic to people choosing to be criminals and law breakers? Please, tell me why anyone should feel sorry for them.

I need sleep so I will head out with this...

A man died at the hands of the police. I feel sorry for that mans family. I think there should be protest for better screening and training of officers. There are peaceful and legal ways to do that.
I think his family at minimum needs to be compensated. There needs to be new police policies and George needs to be honored and recognized in some way.

I think the looting and continued violence needs to stop.

People need to stop blaming anyone other than the police officers that were actually the cause of his death.

I just don't understand why they are only burning and looting private businesses instead of government facilities and organizations. doesn't make sense
also. slavery has happened to every single race all throughout history. slavery is not a black thing. slaves have been used all throughout human history. comprising of almost every group of people. blacks being the most recent. africans had BLACK slaves. however. slavery is a moot point currently. however, prejudice is another story. mistaken actions aside. improper execution should not dilute sympathy.

burn police cars, police stations, block off city hall. flood the courts with people so they can't function. the government and people in power don't care if you loot small businesses. it doesn't give them incentive to intervene.

the majority of the LOOTING is people taking advantage of chaos. to commit crimes under the safety of crowds. taking tv's from wallmart isn't protesting an issue.

there are legitimate protesters, and there are people who think mass hysteria is exciting. they have been bored in quarantine. and now they have something to do. as cynical as it sounds. it is true.

if you're going to riot. riot with a purpose. not for the sake of rioting.

I agree, and I think once you see a lot of them are just bad actors who like the mass hysteria or are directly trying to dilute the movement it becomes a much clearer picture of who is doing what here. Who benefits from the actions being taken? You think, "silly protestors, that won't help your message get across." No shit, even a backwoods honeybooboo donkeyfucker knows that. You think the protestors don't? You think the protestors want to come back next year when another murder by the state happens? It's crazy how easy it is to get some of these folks to completely forget about a murder and start crying about merchandise. They desperately don't want to talk about reforms because they want their cops to be as intimidating and far-reaching as possible because those military toys ain't used on them, they may as well be their toys when they can pick up the phone at any time like that ***** in central park and call in the brigade of scared urban soldiers who can't keep their finger off the trigger.

Like I said, if this had been a black cop who murdered this guy, then, we wouldn't be here. Do you agree?

A lot of these protests have exposed other police of the same type of behavior that they're protesting against. It's going to be like Hong Kong, they initially started protesting because the extradition bill, and after all of the bullshit the police put them through it became about police brutality and accountability instead, can you blame them? When the government tried to appease them finally by canceling the bill they didn't stop protesting, should they have?

In my opinion there needs to be more than screening or training, there needs to be accountability. Qualified immunity needs to die. It hurts us as a society, and turns them into immune killers. The police should be held accountable in the EXACT same way as regular people, with the very few exceptions that they can make armed arrests for misdemeanors and private citizens can't, that's it. I would hope that's not an unpopular opinion, it benefits white people too.

I'm friends with a lot of cops, I have them in my family. I don't think they even disagree with accountability. I mean look at it from another profession's perspective: If only a few airline pilots bailed out of a plane with a parachute mid-flight do you think they'd fire them 100% of the time? More importantly, do you think they'd keep their pilot's license? How about a doctor? If only a few of them occasionally decapitate a patient during surgery do you think they'd be fired? Do you think they'd be able to go to another hospital in the next county over and continue practicing with their medical license? Of course not, people like this need to have their qualification to do this job suspended permanently in all of law enforcement in one rubber stamp by an indepedent 3rd party who isn't issuing them warrants 4 times a day. They should then be tried with the same scrutiny as a citizen's arrest. This is common sense, no? I think the people protesting would be happy with that.

What you don't understand is that it only takes one person in 20 years to end a cops life. He has to treat everybody as a killer. What this Minneapolis cop did was wrong. But, we can't condemn all good cops in our country.

exactly.
people keep using the boston tea party as an example. "well look at the boston tea party, they destroyed that."
context is EVERYTHING.
THOSE WERE BRITISH SHIPS.
it's not like the colonists just started trashing their their own infrastructure. they trashed the infrastructure of the party who was doing them wrong.

Too true, it's about "If you affect us, we'll affect you." With the boston tea party as a perfect example. In fact, it's hard to think of anything more American than that concept.

yeah, the blue brotherhood is strong. right now things are backwards. if a common man is unaware of a law, he can still be held by it. but cops can blatantly misrepresent their power and there is virtually no punishment. the very people who SHOULD be the golden standard are the ones who skirt the law that their entire purpose is to protect. if you are too scared to do your job the way it should be done (I.E. the publics safety comes BEFORE your safety.that's the entire reason that cops should be given respect. because they SHOULD be making personal sacrifices for the benefit of their communities) that's why GOOD cops should be given respect. they sacrifice "to protect and serve" but that has been perverted into "my safety comes first, the populace is secondary."

the military has extreemely strict rules of engagement in FAR more hostile situations. no wonder people respect the military. cops wonder why they aren't treated and revered like firemen. and it all comes around to the principles I just stated. when you give yourself, and sacrifice yourself, for the community. you become the pillar, the idle of the public. but to the highest level, the people who's moto is to keep us save have prooved that after all their safety comes first.

Couldn't of said it better myself. Here's a post I saw on Facebook that I think lays out your second paragraph really well.

honestly good cops should be more outraged than the public. if I was a cop. and I sacrificed my safety, in the name of my deep desire to serve and protect my community. I would be absolutely appalled when bad cops were protected by the institution that I believed was established to protect the populace . I would move those complaints up the line. and if I was ignored, or silenced. I would find another job to serve my community. cuz after all, isn't that the only CORRECT reason to want to be an officer? but... so many officers seem to want.....power.... these things should be easy to determine with psychological tests. are you here to prove you're a big man? or are you here to protect. and if you don't speak up.... than realize you are betraying the most core value of what your job symbolizes.

being fired and being demoted be damned. this is not a profession to sustain your life. this a profession that is born to be akin with a higher purpose. "but if I talk I'll get fired..." give me a break
