I tried messing around with distances tonight to no avail. How can I move my left speakers further out to the left? With this DSP I measure the actual distance of the sub (70" in this case) but set it to 0" in the DSP then measure the actual distances to the other speakers and subtract their actual distances from the subs actual distance. Weird I know. I did verify this with RF.

Below are illustrations to help show what I want to do. My head centers with the 3rd from the left circle in both pics. In the IASCA disc I have it has a 7 snare drums track that pans evenly from left to right. Currently it sounds like the first pic, I want the image like the second pic. Image is eye level so that is already good.

Can't you just delay the left side a little. I'm sure it's probably just milliseconds. Maybe, set the right side to arrive a little quicker. I'm sure you have already tried this.

Yeah, I tried... for about 30min. It's being stubborn. I did just do some reading on this from AudioFrog. I am going to change my crossovers from Mrs. Butterworth to Linkerbitch and Riley.

Can you try setting the right side farther away in inches and the left side even closer. I'm not sure if the DSP would then bring the right side quicker and slow down the drivers side automatically.

Well, I think the theory is... Less delay on the right and more on the left should make the left seem further away but damn if it isn't throwing me through the ringer. This crap was easy to do with stereo speaker cabs for my guitar for stereo delay and chorus.

Maybe, try setting all the front stage speakers equidistant from you and then just do the millisecond delay on the drivers side only. Just throwing ideas out there.

Well, I did notice that my initial settings put my right tweeter at like 20" away and it put my left tweeter at almost 36". I tried tripling the distances on the drivers side from the left and didn't really hear a change.

i delayed my right speakers to match my sub distance. then delayed my left speakers by ear until the vocals sound centered

I don't run rears either. You would think that doubling the distance for the left speakers against the right speakers would do the job. But when I tried that, nada. I think I will try adjusting volumes independently from left and right and see if that does anything.

when i delayed my left speakers to match the right speakers distance, it didnt sound good, thats why i just relied on my ears

setting the distance out further wouldn't make it sound further away, that's what is uses to set the delay on the difference between right and left. so by putting the left way further out you are reducing the delay making it actually seem closer

He should definitely try it with drivers very close in inches and the passenger side farther away. I'm wondering if all of this is because we are so used to hearing it as we always have. Time alignment might be correct, but we aren't used to hearing it that way.

It may be the placement of my speakers too. My 6.5" Silverflutes are low in the doors and my Alpine tweets are in pods on the A-Pillars pointed slightly down and aimed to cross each other about the plane the shifter is on I guess... about chest level. Here, look.

I would suggest trying both extremes and then dial it in from there to your taste. I actually have up on my DSP. Just trying to give you some feedback. @Jeffdachef should be able to get you dialed in.
