Brand new head unit preamps not outputting???

I have a headache...so I Installed a new head unit using the wire harness and the system works correctly, however when I try to grab a signal using ANY of the preamp outputs there is no signal emitting from any of them. The amp and subs works perfectly when I tap into a signal elsewhere. But I want the raw signal via the pre out for the subwoofer amp.

The rca wire continuity is good
The multi meter reads absolutely nothing when testing the outputs.

If Im using the harness speaker wires does it cancel out the ability to use the preamps? Is it one or the other or is the new unit defective right out the box? Any help would be appreciated

I see on that model you can turn off the subwoofer preouts but I don't see anything about turning them all off. Might have a bad headunit.

i didnt want to be an outright jerk, but the applied ignorance of people to not try the manuals first is beyond me.
