Alright guys wiring question. Or possibly bad amp

Lol I have a 2015 Jetta tdi with focal intergration speakers on an older jbl 4 channel amplifier. I decided to run it active passive to utilize my touchscreens time alignment capabilities. To clarify active passive that means each woofer gets a channel and each tweeter gets a channel but I left the crossovers built into the tweeters wiring there. It worked for quite a while but it seemed I got a wierd noise from the driver tweeter when I had it as loud as it could go undistorted. Now the amp goes into protection mode when it gets switched power regardless if the speakers are hooked up or not. It is a discontinued amp I would give the model name but I dont remember it

Instant protect mode with no load sounds like a bad amp to me.
