My boss told me to sell my subs or I'll be fired...

OP, I hate to say it but I'd quit before matters get any worse. I mean your already unhappy to start with and this thread proves it. If your not happy and gonna be unhappy showing up at work everyday knowing your boss makes you choose the subs for you to run only, not what you want to run, then that's a red flag. Another question/idea is have him show you in a employee handbook where it's required to run the brands they carry in an installers vehicle and nothing else. I get it where if a installer worked at a local car audio shop, they would want them to represent a brand or 2 or more...but is there limitations? Unless I missed this part, then tell me again. Don't really feel like going back to reread the entire post again until later.
No employee handbook either. And I dunno, he didnt say anything about my mids/highs. just told me to sell my sundown and buy RF. I'm not unhappy, thats probably been the only hiccup in my situation but it isnt something I'm willing to budge on. I'm happy other than that. How they do business (shitty) doesnt really affect me.

 
Then stay if you like it but seriously heed my warning and record him saying that at least once and have backup plan. You're not stupid if you can do that kind of work, so don't f**k yourself over being complacent with covering your ***.

I reserve the right to talk mad shit for 1-2 years about you if you don't cover your ***.
I agree, I plan to stay for as long as I can. I was thinking about doing the same for backup/collateral. u rite

They can't fire you if you did nothing wrong and if there's nothing written. Well suppose he makes up his own "rules" and that's that. That's when you get ahold of Labor & Industries for them to investigate the issue there. Say since nobody asked, what about the other installers there? Are they running that particular car audio shop brands only too or other "outside/non mainstream brands?

I can just see his next job interview. So why did you get let go from your last job, if you don't mind me asking? Because I refused to run subs on their behalf rather than what I already have.

They are running RF. Less because they were told to mainly because of the discount and they had crap systems before. I like my system, it's perfect for what I want. I just want more bass now and RF is not the path I plan on taking. No disrespect to them.
