I'd understand if he said no giving demos with brands not carried. But I'd be damned if I'd let him fire me for some crisp like that.

I'd walk out, crank my subs to the max and drive right buy the front door as I rattled their shelves and drive away.

I had a shop offer me a job building enclosures because all they did was prefabs at the time. I respectfully declined and he found someone else. None of their builds did a 150... ?   from 9 12s, 4 15s, 2 18s.. None...  ?

The shop/owner in question sounds like easy pickings for someone who wanted to open a competing shop in the OP's town and do REAL car audio work. That pre-fab junk and "RF only" sales pitch would get stomped on by a competent business person pretty quickly.
OP, remove your subs and tell the owner you sold them. Then ask him what kind of hella deal he is willing to give you to run his brands. It sounds like getting gear at cost might be the best you can hope for.
Gotta say that is really a dick move by your boss. I'd move on pretty quickly if I could. Are there no Best Buys or other audio shops in your area where you could get a job?

Op is not trying to set records. He's trying to pay bills. A new line with custom enclosures is worth money to him. Cant all be rich like you bruh.

This company probably only carries up to 4 gauge wiring kits anyways. Doesn't sound like they want to get into custom jobs at all.

Looks like you never ventured into how these shops operate and where their profit margins are from.  A majority of their business is wiring remote alarms and tinting. Then its easy simple installs along with overcharged prefabs and marked up prices on mainstream brands or cheap low overhead high marked up junk that the average joe might have heard of is the main cash cows.  The average joe wont know anything about custom enclosures or anything else. They just want some bump* a majority of the times.   

Just imagine the most ignorant close minded noobs we've seen on this forum now they will be 90% of your paying customers. The other 10% will pay for quality.  However a t2 16 marked up to 1500 dollars vs 600 at cost already makes more money than a custom enclosure + sundown sub combined and its an easier sell to those rich ignorant noobs that recognize the RF name vs sundown. Of course they will also want to match the brand name with the amp which the store can also horrifically mark up. 

However it does not excuse the owner from acting like a complete POS.

Kinda reminds me of the story on MSN  not long ago how a worker, painter, was fired from his job because he refused to attend bible study as part of his job's description. 1st off, religion and work should totally separate. The fact that they don't do any custom work should have been a red flag. Most shops at least build sub boxes for customers.

I’d tell him this ain’t Best Buy ***** a true car audio shop appreciates all worthy installs regardless if it’s myopic to their brands. At least the shop I worked at did and most of the time when we had car shows all the other local shops would come and show their builds
