zx700.5 and ohm question

Alright, got another dumb question I'm sure, but I don't really understand a lot of the electrical sides of car audio that well. I'm running a zx700.5 for my entire system. All the specs show that it's 2ohm stable but the sub channel is supposed to be there class D amp integrated into it. All of there mono amps are rated at 1ohm stable. How likely am I to damage something if I try to run it at 1 ohm? Is 2 ohm stable just there safety net or is it the rock bottom rating?

The reason I ask is because I've got 2 L7 8's 4ohm DVC. As they're wired now I can only pull about 100wrms each but If I wire them to 2 ohms 1 ohm total load on the amp I could push them to 400wrms. I'm just trying to figure out if I need another amp or if I could push this one a bit harder. Or maybe I'm just going to blow some $hit up! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

That's the answer I was looking for. I didn't plan on just hitting it all at once and I understand there will be a limit. So with the remote bass boost hooked up would it be better to give it decent volume and roll into it with that or set the bass boost and roll into the volume?

Should it kick into protect first or would it just go all at once if it couldn't handle it?

the kicker amps i have had will jump into protect before anything bad really happens, i only burnt up the outputs on 1 of them and that was because of my stupidity...just do like 99oldsintrigue says and you shouldn't have a problem. i have contacted kicker in the past regarding similar situations and their techs have told me the same thing.......or, you could just get a bigger amp and run it at the rated 2 ohms, the kx650.4 maybe?

I don't know why i said the 650.4 since it's a 4 channel //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif, i was thinking of the one i have that i was talking with a friend about.....sorry but i guess you could bridge it as it should put out over 300rms x2 ? or get the 1500....and maybe another set of subs if you want to "rattle" the cars next to you. IMO anyway for what it's worth.

Just in case anyone else wanted to know it works fine....

For about 3 seconds! lol Just went in to protect but those three seconds were by far the loudest **** 8's I've ever heard! I think I'll be upping the juice before to long now! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
