ZX2500.1 too much for SSA Icons?

Just ordered my SSA Icons and was wondering if the 2500.1 is going to be too much for them? Should I stick with a 1500.1?

Someone else just had the 15's and said he blew them on it? Just was wondering maybe what kid of power your running to them and what not and if you think they'll be okay as they are rated for 1000rms each?

I'd say it will be fine as long as your careful with it. The ZX is a powerful amp and I have known some to do close to 3kw. You could probably get buy on the 1500.1, as the subs don't need that much power to get loud. But if you wanna beat the living hell out of them for a couple minutes at a time, the 2500 would do that.

I have one 15 in my Blazer at 1000 watts and it's more than enough, I can almost imagine what two would be at roughly the same power :S

The 1500.1 is going to be more than enough if you're not doing comps.

If your talking about the guy from ATL i forgot his S/n(starts with a m) i think he only blew 1....id go with a 2000wrms amp. Theres a Opti for sale in the classifieds.

Ya I use to run mine off 1500 watts it did very well but i wanted louder so i want with a zx2500 and blew one

i would personally stick with the 1500.1, very powerful amp, however since you have a pretty good electrical go with the 2500.1 and set the gains correctly

Man now I'm scared lol! I'm not usin' it for comps or nothin' so maybe I should just stick with my 1500.1 but now I'm gonna have to sell my 2500.1 I just ordered lol haha

Maybe I'll power each one up and see how it sounds? As I'll have both amps.

Do the SSA Icons not get that loud? For who's ran them would they compare at all to my old Kicker L7's at all or no?

Oh they get loud lol. Mine were loud off 1500 watts i think 2500 watts was pushin it. From expirence if you do run them off the zx2500 be VERY careful. Its already pushin it enough. I unfortanetly wasnt to careful and blew them.

Yeah but I frickin' blew my Kickers off of my zx1500.1 so Maybe it's a little harder for me to notice lol!

Is there a good amp out there that is 2000rms at 2 ohms or at .5ohms cause I bought the D2 models?
