ZX1000.1 on a 12" Type-R ?

Hey,

I was going to get a Kicker zx750.1 to power my soon to be new 12" Type-R but I saw a zx1000.1 in the classifieds and I was wondering if it would be a good match also? Is it too much power?

well the 750 will do just over 900 watts at 2 ohms, and i think the 1000 will do just over 1250 at 2 ohms. kickers are a lil underrated. i think the 750 will be plenty for a single type r

For the price/power difference I would get the zx750.1 or go for the zx1500.1 for a possible upgrade later and skip the zx1000.1.

IMO, it would be too much since kicker amps are very underrated. some people would say it will be fine as long as you watch your gains but i think its too much.

Yeah I saw a lot of the zx750s putting out in the 900s so 1000 would be like 1200s

i agree. i think it would be to much power for that type r to handle daily.

i think the zx750 on a single type r will be fine.

i just ordered a zx750 for my treo ssi ten to replace my mtx.

I would also go with the ZX750. I did push my JL with my Arc 1500-XXK (puts out a little over a K-watt at 2ohms), but was pretty conservative with the gain on it.
