yes, i have bought the kickers already... I really dont want to get any brands that arent cea compliant... i've read that they lie about the power and i dont want to have any problems with my car audio...

When they don't post the proper power ratings, that means it's giving your driver LESS power. LESS POWER CAN NEVER DAMAGE YOUR DRIVER. This cannot be stressed enough. Those other non-CEA compliant amps might not do their rated power, but they'll do something around it. (normally the most the power will alter in terms of RMS is about 100 watts or so RMS). This WON'T damage your system.

And underpowering subs won't damage neither the amp nor the driver. The sub just isn't working at it's full potential.

You can also get an amplifier that is able to give enough power to completely devestate your drivers, but as long as you set your gains properly, you don't have to worry. You can set the gains to only give out X RMS.
