zx1000.1 amplifier

ok, so I have gotten 2 s12l72 subs... they are 750 watts rms each for a total of 1500 watts rms... they are going to go in a custom ported enclosure

the question is would the zx1000.1 be able to handle both? or do I really need to spend more money and buy the zx1500.1?

are you sure? lol It's because the amps i bought don't have a warranty and i dont want to burn any of them up...

I feel like if I get the zx1000 its gonna be too weak for the subs its going to power...

No I'm not sure, just make sure you run that amp @ .5 ohms so it stays nice and cool, it'll get loud too!

umm.. I dont think the amp is .5 stable... I was planning on running it a 2 ohms what do you think

I spent 400 for the 2 subs (new)

wow i can feel it in here, but jbizzle is right, itll work just wire them to 2ohms instead of .5

Is there anything I can do to ensure that its going to work? like turn up the gains on the amp or that kind of stuff? I'm really kinda new to this... i know some stuff from just reading but there is some stuff like this were i get stuck lol

It will be fine. Subs these days are efficient and don't need a megaton of power to get loud. Unless you're aiming to compete, 500 + to each will be fine.

Make sure you get a little battery back there to the amp (HC800)

Run a big 3 upgrade.

if you have the money, get a bigger amp.

Is there a reason your set on kicker amps? they are extremely nice, but pricey. Im sure you could find a decent amplifier for a better price that would push the wattage you need (if you cant afford the 1500.1, that is)

Also, did you already buy the kickers? If you're paying $200 a piece i'd rather get some AudioQue SDC2.5's..

And its your choice if you want to throw a AQ1200 at them, or have some head room and get the AQ2200
