Also...after you've had that card for about 6 months....try applying to places like goody's and lowe's credit cards. buy one thing (cheap of course) and then pay it off the next month. I have a few store credit cards that help out a little. If you get rejected for one, just wait. Everytime a store runs your credit...it knocks it down a few points.

FYI everytime you apply for a creidt card it places a mark on your credit (not good) ecpecially if you are applying and getting denied.
