Which is a better amp to run JBL GX963 and JBL GTO609c speakers? So far both have good reviews so can't decide which is a better buy.

Id do the nvx, its stronger. Your gx's are 100w rms and gtos are 200w rms. The zapco is 70x4, and although its a better name, you wont hear a difference. That nvx shares a board with hertz hpd4

I'd go Zapco all day. Very few amps are as clean and dynamic as Zapco.

If you refer to the estimate I sent to you by email, changing the amplifier to the Zapco ST-4X SQ would drop the BT audio option and improve sound quality while also reducing the total bill.

I have an article that should clarify some things. I like power, and I've got the Precision Power P900.4 amp available. However, I also like better sounding power even if the wattage numbers are smaller.

Zapco is pretty proud of their prices. I think anyone that thinks they are making an audiophile grade amp below 200$, that person is mistaken. I would almost guarentee the zapco is an off the shelf Chinese amp.

The polk 4000.4 actually had a better s/n (105 to 98) and lower THD ( .1%> vs .2%&gt... and it is more powerful. Regardless of cool audiophile notions, headroom is the best factor regarding sq IMO.

In my own experience, I got better SQ out of an older crunch 4ch (usa made) than an Audison sr4 because it was significantly stronger and I didnt need all the headroom.

Just my 2 cents. All amps stated will work fine, but for me, I'd go after the headroom

Zapco has some of the most knowledgable engineers in the field. Even the cheaply sourced amps like you are looking at are sound in design and build. I dont really recommend the cheap stuff but id choose it over the other cheap stuff.. lol
