Any one ever heard of these? i bought from a shop localy for 100 bucks. They claimed that its their own brand custom made just for them. i thought BS at first but then i noticed the construction of the thing looks JUST like any high end sub (DD/FI/SSA ect...) Pushed on the cone a bit and it was very tough to push with a tripple stack mag.

hooked it up yesterday but did not have time to tune the amp for it. Spent a good hour today playing with the settings used a Basstest Cd i burned so it would hit the extreame deeps and mids.

I'm in complete Aw in this sub, it hits soo deep for a 10". Best 100$ sub ever bought.

Now one thing that confuses me is, when its doing its short excursion it makes this "smacking" sound but not when it does its deep excursion so its not bottoming out or anything.

I'm going into the shop tomorrow too to see whats up.

You usually get tinsel slap on high excursion, not low excursion. But I suppose the sub's output may simply be drowning out the slap noise at higher excursion levels.

Its pretty easy these days to find manufacturers that will put whatever custom dustcap you want on your sub, provided you order a certain quantity. In fact, that's how more than one of the (relatively) small underground brands popular on the internet started out, just some guy ordering like 100 subs from a Chinese buildhouse. But I think if I was going to do that and advertise it as my shop's 'custom brand', hopefully Id come up with something a bit better than a simple red Z on the dustcap. Unless, I guess, my shop was named something like "Z's Audio", which in and of itself would be pretty unimaginative.

Post pics of the ass. We cant tell much at all from just pics of the cone.

ok i was wrong its a 2 stack mag, guess the version next to it was the 3stack and didnt notice when putting it in.

Look at those tinsels. They are almost certainly slapping and getting another one probably won't solve your issue. You could throw some felt pads on the backside of the cone to muffle the noise a bit
