Yukon Bose System

I have an 02 Denali with the onstar and bose package. I was planning on switching the stock bose radio (w/ cool cassette player) for a Kenwood KVT-512 and was wondering if I use the PAC OS-1 BOSE ONSTAR INTERFACE to keep everything the way it is would there be and sound quality lost? It's not the best sounding speaker system but I would just like to switch to a nicer radio and didnt want to change speakers in the process.

An aftermarket headunit is going to sound much better then a factory even if you keep the factory speakers.
