your biggest car audio mistake...

Being informed of Edesigns ........ (you knew this was coming).... my biggest mistake was to listen to someone when they talk about that crap

I fitted an equalizer next to my steering column and drilled the hoels for it through a bunch of wires and a metal bar, car was in the garage to be fixed for nearly a week. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Gues Is houlda looked what was behind where I was drilling.

capone: i did the same thing when i first installed my system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

...and i also cracked my door panel when i was installing my components. Pissed me off...

i guess one other thing was test fitting my midbass with the windows just up. when it came time to install, the speaker didnt fit cuz the window was down and i was like WTF. So i ended up cutting up the door panel and just screwing the speaker to that instead of stock location.

x2.
Also installing with a ring on.

One afternoon I blew out a tire on the way home from work. So I pull into a car lot, and they say I can leave it there over night. Thinking it will be perfectly safe, I don't even think to remove the faceplate to my pioneer head unit. I come back the next day, unlock the truck, and see that it's missing. All of the wires are neatly zip tied hanging out of the hole, no windows were broken, and both doors were locked when I returned. I have no idea how they got in. That same night 12g's in wheels off of the 2003 Mustangs were also stolen. As it turns out, the lot had not a single camera watching the lot. So I got screwed out of my stereo.

i actually like the mtx thunder 4000 15's i had two of the in a ported box with a rf 500bd on them they hit really hard although u had to push them their max watts to get them loud when u did they were great

At least they were nice enough to lock the doors for you :p

My mistake was thinking I had out grown the boom phase and only cared about SQ now...

So, I bought 3 JL 12W6s... They sound Kick a$$ even at max volume, but tehy just don't kick you in the ribs or go deep enough.... They sound like what I hope my next system sounds like with the mute button on... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I want it Hella loud, but sound good too...

I have to say the BIGGEST mistake I ALMOST made when I first started into car audio was my first system which was gonna consist of two Pioneer tsw-34c's and a Pyramid 700watt amplifier along with a Aiwa H/U. I purchased the H/U first which did me for awhile but left alot to be desired in the Sound Quality section but still a good starter H/U non the less. Im just glad I did some research on here before I bought that Pyramid Amplifier. I guess one of the reasons I wanted it was because it had a Plexiglass top so I was kinda going for wow factor but I guess if I had gotten it then I would have been going...Wow what a peice of ****!!! lol.

ummm...sony coaxials...and blaupunkt coaxials...and yeah. and i did an install for another kid...and the CD player turned on and then quit...couldn't phucking figure out what was wrong...looked at all amps, wiring and ****. Turned out that his fuse in the stock fuse box in car blew...replaced it and were up in running...wasted like an hour and a half of my time. oh well, peace

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.

I do not see a problem with an addition of up to a 600 RMS Class D mono amplifier with 4 ga OFC wiring supply kit and be fine. It would be...
