i just have to suggest one thingtry just the 10s

then try just the 13

then try the whole thing

set up the same way each time

... just to see whats what

i mean you have all the stuff.. why not try something diff that may/may not be louder/crisper

good luck fighting off the elders

lol

peace
i know... i have i had just the 13 then just the 10's for a while and when i went from the 4 10's and added the 13 the difference was clearly positive... there was a better range, maby not range but at least better volume at the frequencies that the 10's didn't hit so well, but it was louder all around, and no added audible distortion... that is kinda what i was doing i plan on getting another 1000/1 for the second amp, but i was playing around with the 500 sony but i've desided to leave it in for a while

it's kinda obvious that the forum is biased against me when this guy even wants to say i'm wrong about haveing 1500watts out of 1000 and 500
Your not to bright..One of your Amps is a SOny

JSut because a Amp says it is rated at 500...doesnt mean it puts it out...The only way you will hit 1500 Is if the Jl is putting out what the sony is lacking...And i know they are pretty under rated...

yeah that was part of my thinking, and the rest is that my amp inputs are rear speaker outputs from the HU so my gains can be set to deliver slighty more power than rated... my gain on the 1000/1 is at about 1/16th or very close to all the way down... on the 500 i have all the boosts off and the gain higher so i'm getting closer to the actual rated voltage on it ("500 watts") and it's not clipping the signal

also some of you might be thinking that when the volume is up really high the out-put voltage of the HU is probably excedeing the maximum input voltage of the amp... well i set the fader on the radio heavy front and compensated in the highs by turning the back channels up on my 4 channel amp

lets see some pics of this madness

You could picture all the advise you get from the experienced guys a compliment or a insult to your knowledge. But they do know what they're talking about.
