No, I am against fraud. My response is clearly this. If people choose to give a donation, it is a CHOICE. Many people CHOSE not to, while others did. Those that did, got screwed. It is becomming difficult to trust people nowadays, so if you decide to give any monetary donations, you need to figure out for sure whether or not the money is going towards the specific cause.
Please don't get confused with what I'm saying. I'm not saying it was right, it is people's own fault because they chose to give money, the didn't have to, but they did. There are other people who are saying, and not in these words "I told you so, or I was going to but decided not to, or I thought something was fishy", does that mean these people are idiots? No, they are actually wise because they didn't buy into a story since they had their doubts and their doubts ended up keeping money in their pocket.

I just don't understand how what I said implied that fraud is ok, let me repeat for the third time. Fraud is not okay. People have a choice whether they wish to donate or not. If people choose to donate, it is at their own will and risk, as was in this case, and them losing their money was their own fault.

It is their fault for being compassionate beings? I don't understand how them being conned is their fault. I don't understand your flawed logic.

This kind of BS makes it hard for people with real issues, like me about my mother, to come on here and just vent. I would NEVER accept anything from a single soul on these boards that i didn't earn or pay for. No, that is a nice gesture. But it is their fault for giving money. Answer this, did they HAVE to give the money? No, they CHOSE to. Since they were not obligated to do anything, it is their own fault. Why is that difficult to understand and how is any of this logic flawed?

I don't in any way want to come across as defending this guy, but not seeing an obituary in the paper for someone doesn't mean anything. If the person didn't submit one, there wouldn't be on. There wasn't one for my grandmother, or for my friends dad, or a lot of other people. Why do so many people assume that an obituary is an automatic?

i'm not saying that it's an auto but 98% of all people get obits...especially children. I just knew in my heart this *** was lying....and i know its easy to say in the aftermath but i didn't post in that thread because i felt he was lying

It wasn't just the lack of an obituary. It was a combination of things.

First, he was reacting to the death of child in a very unnatural manner -- that just hapopned to be seeking monetary gain. Second, his "con" was not set up nearly as well as he thought. I was pretty certain it was a con when I went back and read his posts setting up people to send him money and equip't. Go back and read it and you will see it is almost comical it is so rediculous.

Third, there was no mention of a daughter on his myspace or any of his friends' myspace accounts. There was no photos of "hannah" in his photobucket, but plenty of baby boy.

Fourth, I looked at his posts. He came here and immediately started posting like crazy in the classifieds. Obviously wanting to wheel and deal for profit.

Finally, his responses to my pm's made no sense.

All in all, it just didn't seem right.

I really wasn't talking about anything other then the people who basically keep saying that if there is no obit, then no one died. I don't for a second believe that he had a daughter. I don't know for sure if his friend did or if that's all BS. I really don't care much one way or the other. It was more a post asking why people kept saying that no one died because there was no obit.

I personally didn't look into it because I wasn't going to give him anything regardless. I know to many people who could use the money for a much better reason than to build an audio set up. I was just wondering if people just assumed that when someone died they got an obit in the paper automatically or something.
