You all got to check out ED new site!!!

just one thing i gotta say...if the driver has only been 'upgraded' then why do the 12's lose 50 rms watts and the 10's lose 75, before the subs were the same and could handle the same watts, now its differnent, im not bashing i think their beautiful!

As u may know the **** RMS on the old K-series wasnt exactly satisfactory for the subs...I have the K's and u **** sure wouldnt see much out of the sub at there RMS that they recommended..yea the sub would do decent but I think 500-600 watts should be the old K's RMS "IMO".....Wonder why they dont post higher RMS's for there subs...Not like u run into an Excursion problem or harm the Coils...But I guess today I will find out how they do at 500 watts //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif :p

I got 3 months to decide if I want these (for 15% off) so I got time to think //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Good thing, cuz thinking is hard for me.

dont play volume master, the RMS ratings are there for a reason - as far as warranty issues and other things

the difference in 50w rms is not a big deal what so ever, - basically just means you have a more efficient driver, and dont need the extra power to get it to full stroke

you make me sad ben. i had my mind set on 2 15" k's, but now they're discontinued:( now i'm gunna have to spend more money to get 2 15" a's and 2 NINe.1's; not like that's a bad thing, but i'm already kinda poor, just gunna take some more time to get more money. Do you think my 200A alt will be able to handle 2 NINe.1's in competitons? (I mean like full blast and using sine waves)

a 150a alternator can handle 2 nine.1s strapped.....

Originally posted by Q45guy Actually with the flat surface your creating less surface area than that of a standard cone. I know i'm just nit-picking...but thats just the way I am. Plus I thought ED was trying to be unique? What is so unique about looking like everyone elses product? I understand from a cost issue that creating a whole new basket design would up the price of the speaker...but at least it would save you from resorting to a cheap basket that just about every other manufacturer uses. I know looks aren't everything with speakers (just take a gander at the Adire Audio Shiva)...but it really does help. For now I'll hold off further judgement until I've seen and heard the new product as I may very well be wrong. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
False....Sd is Sd. Plain and simple. The flat cone is moving every bit as much air as a regular conical cone.

It's also not a cheap basket per say. It's sturdy, it does the job extremely well... and in this case it's advantagious as hell to be using it instead of the 12spoke. You'll also notice a good deal of companys going to the 12 spoke for no real reason. We didn't want to look like them either, so we switched up, did what makes sense for us and our speakers. Been in manufacturing long? The cost of tooling a new basket is HUGE, and will raise our costs as well as yours. the K's would cost around 200 instead of under 150, the A's would be more like 400 instead of 300 and have the same performance. Why not use a existing part...and have the same performance..... and have it cost next to nothing for what it can do.

As far as looks. I guess you'll have to see the new cones, motors, baskets together to appreciate them. But hey, eD isn't for everything, we never have been.

Ben

i got a ? ben, how come yall dont have dual 2ohm versions of the k's and o's???

to keep people from wiring a 12K or 12O, a single one. down to 1ohm on a 1000watt amp. This accounts for a lot of warranty returns. Anyone needing a 4ohm load can still get it very easily. Too many warranty returns from people overpowering single d2ohm drivers. Even if we say don't do it, people still do.
