Newb? I don't think so. There are many many other factors that effect SPL. If you knew anything you would know that the driver has very little to do with SPL. Like I said before. People don't run a W7 in SPL setups. Why would you risk blowing a $600 sub?

ok, no that you may realize that by now...believe me son, i know. Products and brands mean shit in SPL...the only get you so far. It's all in the knowledge...and even more the install/box. PLUS, hours upon hours of testing, and trial and error. BUT, ur excuse is why would people waste blowing a $600 sub....then they obvioulsy don't know how to handle it...or they would know it's limits. Also, it's not that good at all for SPL...then it comes to SPL, it's not all in the displacement or xmax bud. BL plays a large role...i mean...a sub with a peaky BL will be great for SPL....and displacement //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/bawling.gif.6287aa5d1d447c8af063fc9466e822ef.gif...yeah the xmax will be minimal when it peaks in SPL b/c the frequency played should be near the tuning of the box. This meaning, the excursion will no be anywhere near maximum...in an SPL competition.

I'm buying a new Mustang this fall. I wanna put a seriuos SPL system in it.
I was thinking about two 13W7's powered buy two JL 1000/1 amps. Is this a good idea or is it too much for the trunk of a mustang? How loud will this be? The loudest system I've heard in person is a 1200W/2 Solobaric system. So I can't imagine how loud 2000 watts into two 13W7's would be.

That kind of bass (2 13 W7 at 1000 watts each) would kill you and your mustangs windows.
