You shoulda talked dirty to her and shit. talked about fukin her in the ***. I woulda had fun with it. I remember i heard my uncle talkin to some collection agency for something. THat was the funniest thing ive ever heard. They were jsut back and forth cussing at each other, calling each other names. I dont even know what the point of that phone call was, other than both of them to release their stress on eachother.

if it was me, this (being nice or whatever) approach would work more, cuz they are being reasonable. If you just call me acting like a jack ***, I wouldnt even take you seriously. Nothing would be resolved. They are paid to act that way. That is their job. You think people are gonna pay just because someone calls you and asks you nicely?
I understand that, but they act that way because they do not want to befriend you symathize, they don't want to hear excuses. They are getting paid to make those calls because the big business doesn't want to involved. If you were not gonna pay, you'd be subpoena'd or continually sent notices until you paid, and of course interest would accrue.if it was me, this (being nice or whatever) approach would work more, cuz they are being reasonable. The big business has to get involved because they're the ones you really owe the debt to. The only thing the collection agencies have on you is partial payments (any payments made they use as evidence that you feel you owe them the debt), and those common law defaults they send out that when you don't respond make you liable for the debt. But I've never seen anyone get sued by a collection agency and I've seen people with upwards of 4-6k in debt. Most collection agencies aren't even local, so they'd have to pay someone to drive/fly to your location to even file the suit, on top of lawyer fees, and then the fact that even if they do win what are they going to get?
If someone is too poor to pay a debt, they usually don't have assets to seize or a good job to garnish. Lawsuits are really just inefficient and that's even when you win, unless it's against someone with money. Suing poor people just costs you more lol. Which is why I don't understand why poor people get so scared of them.
you get foreclosed on...you get kicked out. No excuse, you don't pay, you're out. A lawyer can extend the time until this occurs, so you can rip everything out of the house, but you eventually leave. And the only thing I slightly disagree with you Flip is in regards to mortgages. I would think they could buy very little time using that excuse since they are recorded in county offices.
But I could be wrong on a technicality somewhere since I am not very well versed in debt law.
Yeah I was aware of that but it takes a good while to foreclose on a property. If you didnt come up with the money by then you probably werent going to be able to.you get foreclosed on...you get kicked out. No excuse, you don't pay, you're out.
