^^yea install is everything. In this case the box plays and always will play a HUGE role in how your subs sound.

The size of the sub will not matter.

Its 2.5^3 tuned to 34hz. Mikes recommended size, but i tuned a bit higher then recommended cause i don't think i'm going to need as much low end extension.

Cone size will affect displacement, which will affect the response curve at the low end. But the enclosure alignment plays a much bigger role in the complete subwoofer system's low end response. Any other generalizations about 'a 10 cant do this', or 'you need a 15 to do that' are just.... generalizations.
