Do I have to put the weatherstripping around the edge? I left the carpet on the edge of the box so the sub will lay on it. Will that be enough? If you want to remove any/all resale value from your sub, sure ...
Weatherstripping is a much easier and cleaner solution to preventing air leaks around the driver ... Very cheap, as well ($2 for like 50 feet) ...
hey.. I THINK I KNOW WHY: lil jon - bia bia does not get LOW in my car either. i have an idMAX powered by a modded MTX 1501d. my crossover points are set at EXACTLY 62 hz by my audiocontrol EQ. i think its because BIA BIA does not get low... every other song that is suppose to get low and loud gets LOW and LOUD in my car. however, when i put BIA BIA in it doesnt hit as low as i thought.. and i guess its because the song doesnt go as low as i thought it did.. it does have bass but it seems the bass it has is higher than sub-bass frequencies or something. anyway, i noticed this a while bacc and have concluded thta the only reason people say BIA BIA hums in their car is because they probably have their LPF set pretty high?
I have 2 10"s in a .75^3 per chamber box and mine get plently low. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gifHe has 10" subs. This means that they arent going to sound that low, especially in that small box, thats sealed...
Get a ported box that's large and tuned low (like 30 htz for 10"). YOu have a Volfenhag amp that probably isn't putting out the power you need.
That's the problem you will have with smaller drivers. Me on the other hand with my 15"... I get too much low bass.
Yea... What stones said.
