Specs again, and coupled along with such a stron and meaningful word as "SHOULD". What i'm saying is, i don't care what the specs "SHOULD" show...it's NEVER been shown in real life...ever. Even if my side has only been shown ONCE...that's still more than anything you are trying to prove. I'll research even more, and try to get some other solid tests...if RE ever answers my e-mails. Also, i'm not going to the "Nth" degree just to satisfy your concrete mind. The specs show clearly at some point the XXX should pull away from the SX. If you want to extrapolate those two tests out to the Nth degree, again that only show the SX is more efficient, something we already knew, that's fine but I will speak up and point out what it is you are doing, when you do it.
Again, ANOTHER "specs" and "SHOULD" reference. The RMS on the XXX is 1600...so it was at least over the RMS. But seriously...whatever, i think what your trying to say is if we should push the SX the same percentage over it's limits as the XXX...for example you might be suggesting to supply the SX with with 1400 watts rms while (40% past assumed rms) and the XXX with 2240 (40% past assumed rms)...are you saying that is a fair test? Because that's what it seems like to me. (I may certainly be wrong in what you're trying to assert). Well, obviously the XXX MAY be louder tan the SX in that situation. All i am saying is, i will put my money on the SX any day of the week in a straight up exact head to head battle. (Same box, install, power). I never tried to say you wanted to bet...i was telling you with confidence that IF I WAS A BETTING MAN...i would put my money on the SX any day of the week (as stated above.)I am not saying the XXX is louder, Im saying the specs show it should be, and the tests you quote have not pushed the XXX to find out.
Peace! If that's you gut feeling...and you feel spending the extra money is feasible...then go for it! You WILL NOT be disappointed. I'm not trying to necessarily tell you which sub to get...or either one is ultimately better than the other, i'm just saying experiences and examples of both as well as stating which will be better in *certain applications*.
I have an 18 XXX and love it! I love the 50/50 mix of SQ and SPL...if i leaned on the side of SPL...i might have went with the SX. peace

Bet you it isn't! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifBlah my XXX is bigger and louder than yours.
wtf are you talkling about?! What does having a trunk have anything to do with not being able to have 3 subs?!?!?!i didnt read all the posts but dude, dont gow tih 3 subs in a trunk, the 3rd sub will be a waste i think, 3 isnt a good number to go with in a trunk, unless you wanna go for looks or if you wanna say you have 3, but its up to you
Did you not see the result ON THE MIC that DAVE posted...with 2 SX's getting 1800 rms a piece and 2 XXX's getting 1800 rms a piece. The SX's were 1.3 dB's louder.Ok well... IDC what anyone says... or whatever.... but heres how it is straight from RE when i called
AT 1000 watts the SX is louder.... 1000 watts doesnt make the XXX happy even alittle....
Give the xxx 1800 watts.... and you have a louder sub... with better SQ then the SX
How much louder? it depends.
BUT RIGHT FROM RE... TWO differnt people.... the XXX gets louder
