xxx not what I expected

Well that little mistake could have turned a nice amplifier into a quite expensive paper weight...

True. And I thanks you for pointing that out to prevent anything from happening. I messed up, thanks for helping.

However, based on one interaction and mistake, for you to jump to conclusions about me messing up the sub and saying that I know "nothing about car audio" seems to me to be a little hasty and underthought. Not only that, because it puts me in a position in which, since you suggested it IS my fault, people are now looking at me and beginning to point fingers. I would like to exhaust all other options first before we look at a mechanical problem with the sub, either caused by me, the seller, bowen, or by FedEx.

I do hope that you will look at that 300C build as the day progresses and hopefully change your opinions a little about me. Don't be a jackass.

EDIT: Read previous post. We all still have learning to do. I learned. Deal with it. Jesus. You know more than me. Woo hoo.

Well, based on this diagram

460 Wiring

I would tap your LOC into the rear spkrs(not the sub channels).

Leftside Pos(LOC) to Gray/Light Blue

Leftside NEG(LOC) to Tan/Yellow

Rightside POS(LOC) to Orange/Red

Rightside NEG(LOC) to Brown/Pink

I can only guess that whoever drew that diagram would put the POS wire on top each time. You may have to do some switching around to get the best sound.

Just hooked up the identical XXX Kevokrook77sold to me, and it sounded pretty loud. I have in installed in a 2.1 CuFt enclousure tuned to 28hz with a eD NiNe.1, and it got pretty loud considering I didn't secure the sub (waiting for security screws). Had it in the back seat of my cousins 1990 Toyota Camry with the engine off so the voltage was probably @ 12.2 volts. Wasn't flexing the roof or anything but it was clean, distortionless bass with plenty of excursion =)

glad you like it! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

when i got my XXX it was not what i was expecting either. at lower volumes it seriously lacked any presence and sounded very empty and hollow. But once i put some power on it, that bish seriously came to life and was everything i was expecting

Not right out of your HU. Trust me on this, it was the only way we could get the LOC to work on an 04 Escalade with Navi and the Blose(Bose) system in it.
Alright cool, Theres two connections in the back for the mach 5x7's. I took the whole amp rack out of the back so the wires are there. I'll tap into those when I get off work and see what happens.

sounds like a box problem IMO. Stop trying to figure it out and get yourself to the shop and have them uninstall/reinstall it. the only way you'll ever get it done right. i don't care what the sub is, 1200-1400 watts will make anything at least decently loud.
