so can we rule out its the amps fault? i dont believe an amp has to do with the way a sub sounds, ill hook my viper back up and see, if it sounds right ill know its either the wires or the amp who knows
:/ AMPS themselves affect the sound??? I know that AMP SETTINGS definately do...Amps play a large role in what your sub will sound like. What are your filters set at? What direction do you have the sub pointed in your car? Sounds like your gain is wrong and your crossovers are off. How many voicecoils are there? Maybe you wired the sub incorrectly.

There is no way to tell with out trying them. Is it possible? yes. Likely? no. In most cases you wont be able to hear a difference. Even if there is any.interesting... so a kicker or an orion 1200 would make my sub sound better than a concept1200?
