okay, so i got my XXX 15 in a couple days ago, i had it in there good running off my viper, 1 problem, is my SX moved more than my XXX does, so i thought maybe the XXX needs more power, or maybe it hasnt broken in yet, so i got my PA a3000db in, this adds in more problems, for some reason the amp isnt doing something right or i havent set the "extra complicated" 3 knobs, wow you match the gain which i did 1800 x 1 then square root it comes out to 42.4v, so i set it there, but it isnt as loud as the viper was hardly, its not really much louder if any, but the lowend is gone and for some reason i have more midbass now, so wtf, it used to hit some notes with my viper, but with the PA, it acts like its not even there, like the ssf is cutting them out like the really low bass part of bme click and parts of late nite tip have like gone to barley nothing, some lil jon songs the higher bass sounds the same but if it hits those low notes, they ****, it sounds like my klipsch computer sub, because it dosent go really low and has good midbass, i check ssf and turn it all the way down for the heck, but nothing different, i have bass boost off and gain is about 1/4 or so, so does anybody have a soultion, the PA is only running on 4ga right now, but im getting the 1/0 next week

i used a dmm and re checked the gain, even turned it up a bit, still low end is gone

and i checked the voltage, it is about 12.5 when bass is hitting and about 13.8 idle, what do i need to do, do the gain to actual ohms, because when i check those its like 1.5 when i want 1, so do i need to set it to 1.5? my ground is a 8ga, but im changing it to a 4ga tomorrow but i dont think this will matter for those probs, does anyone have a solution? is it defective //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif ,

answer any of the questions you know the answer too or please throw in some info about this, its making me just want to put back the viper in there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

Dude, wait more than 45 minutes.

Your ground wire being 8 gauge might be one part of the problem. Maybe box size is wrong?

It wont be a huge amount louder than the viper, anyway.......Going from 1300 or so to 1800 should be a bit louder, but not a huge amount.....

As for lacking the low bass, that sounds like it must be something with the box, unless you changed your head unit settings (like if you disconnected the battery and everything got reset).....either that, or your filters on your amp arent set right...

well i did disconnect the batt, but i dont see how that would effect it much, im pretty sure i set everything back to what it was, it isnt the box because it was fine the other way with the viper, i cant remember anything with the Hu i forgot to set right, you would think an amp has that much to do with the way it sounds because it took my low end and threw it out the window

so can we rule out its the amps fault? i dont believe an amp has to do with the way a sub sounds, ill hook my viper back up and see, if it sounds right ill know its either the wires or the amp who knows

When I first got My 2 12 inch Eclipse 8712.8's I complained about the same exact thing that you are right now, lots of midbass but no bottom, I was told to play em for awhile and let the spiders loosen up then the problem will go away on its own, sure enough the problem faded away after 3months and to this day I havn't owned a better sounding pair of subs.

Thats a **** good idea.....rule out possible sources of the problem one by one....

Check the amp settings like suggested, beginning with the LPF.....as for the suspension loosening up, that may be the case, too.......you just had it reconed, right? If you cant get it solved by Monday, call RE and see if they think that may be the problem.

if i were you

id upgrade ALL that wire you are using to 0 guage. period. you are severly limiting that amps output by not giving the current it wants to perform with. 8 guage will NOT cut it.

period.

as for the suspension loosening up, yes, that could contribute.

try setting the low pass filter AS LOW as you can. maybe try and turn all the knobs on the amp to 'flat'. low pass filter should be about 80~100hz. and it shuold cut out everything ABOVE that frequency, not below it. a subsonic filter, is just a really low highpass filter.

so set that about 10hz below your tuning frequecny. usually 20~30hz.

that amp should be plenty of power for a XXX. i think your electrical system can not keep up with it - personally.

well another thing i want to rule out is the suspension, because it was fine with my old HU settings and the viper, its either tuning of the amp or setting on the HU or the wiring, but its getting enough power to make a lot of midbass but just some low notes are gone, if anyone has any solution let me know because ive ran out of ideas

what? okay im off to work will check when i get back, there better be some help when i get back //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
