xover point for mids

For rap and hiphop 80hz, if your running more rock then 60 or 70hz would be fine. I run a mix of both so im at 80hz and its fine.

Mine are Hertz HSK 165s. They're at 80 right now. I know for a fact they can just as easily handle 70HZ or so for pretty much any kind of music but my rear fill isn't amplified, therefore lacks its own crossover. So the simplist solution to keep everything clean for the time being was to cross everything at 80, the lowest setting on my HU.

Eventually I have to figure out whether to either eliminate the rear fill or find a way to cross it over separately about 80 HZ by itself so I can put my fronts closer to 70. I would never go below 70 on most midbass/midranges, you start to loose too much volume if you play bass heavy music.

I have my mids from 50/63hz up to 2.5/3.2khz, depending on what I'm listening to I flip between. The high pass I have at a 24dB slope, low pass at an 18dB slope

RE XXX 6.5 components ran active, only getting about 90-100w each mid //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif.
