XM VS Sirrius? Whos the winner?

yah i just noticed sirius is with one r not two, lol. Do any of you have the pioneer sirius unit? im looking to buy it but dont know how the HELL ill mount the antenna. I read the manual online and it says how to but i want it clean, not with a wire hanging. If any of you have it by pioneer ( or any brand with an external antenna ) how did you mount it and where?

I've done a few direct connect satellite radio's on the Pioneers. I mount the antenna right about the windshield and run the wire through the weatherstripping on the windshield down into the doorjam through a stock gasket or removable panel. I either mount the tuner in the glove box, or under a seat. No wires show when I do em //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sirius is the winner... and will remain the winner...

Xm in my eyes is more of a professional aspect. It has stocks and alot more of the mature listeners buy XM but People 16-30 mostly pick Sirius and 30 + Pick XM.... form the experince of the units I have sold at work.

i have fm and I listen to mix tapes(CDs) because the radio sux more nut than a ***** on friday night, after she is off work and looking to sux a nut for fun

No one knows how to spell Sirius lol.
It's spelled like the star...how difficult can it be //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

If you're up to drilling a hole in your roof (been there, done it a few times), you could drill a hole for a standard Motorola NMO mount (takes a 3/4" hole), install the mount and a suitable antenna and run the coax under the headliner so it's not visible in the cabin. Although, that falls under the "Way Too Much Work Than Necessary" category...but it does leave a clean job.

XM has better (end user) hardware, but inferior stations from my exposure to both and a little worse reception than Sirius.

The audible quality is nearly identical, but the stations on Sirius have better DJ's - and play a wider variety of songs.

And Sirius hasn't been stupid enough to ditch their metal channel like XM did... So that's a plus in my book.

I got Sirius after doing a comparison for a while between two friends vehicles - so far I haven't regretted my decision.

For those with the antenna mount question, I never bothered running mine outside the car. I just put it on the dash of the vehicle near the windshield. Never had a cutout when I can see sky - only time I do is driving under a bridge.

i wouldn't recommend XM since you say you listen to a lot of rap. the rap stations on XM just aren't that great. the sports are decent. i got my XM for free so i can't complain //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif you can always go to sirius website and get like a 3 day pass or something like that and listen to the stations.
