I'm gonna shoot you an unrelated email in a few minutes.

to get the proper spacing and coil height your not going to get the same BL.. you simply have to increase diameter of the coil other wise its not going to be as linear.. you could say hte same about underhung..

The XBL^2 tweeters are OEM products from the company Dan Wiggins works for: Acoustic Development International.

The last I heard, they were in a few home audio finished units, and were "in the plans" of an online car audio company that has an active presence in forums. In the case of the latter, that was probably two years ago and I don't see any component sets listed on their site, so I can only assume that those plans aren't likely to come to fruition.

Well that's no good.

This is one of the XBL^2 SPL woofers I'm working on :

Looks very nice, Jacob. You know you're going to have countless people asking you to sell them the baskets and spiders for that 8" driver with a 3" coil... Myself included. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

I might even sell them too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I am going to stock up on the frames... and will bring in at least 500 sets of spiders as well as I plan to continue pushing the envelope on 8s.

Got my drawing of the cone I'm planning to use... it's quite unique too -- 15 grams weight and I don't see anything short of 180 dB breaking it *laughs* (this type of cone may end up finding it's way onto some of our other subs later) Surround has linear throw up until 2 mm from the basket running out of clearance... motor is linear up until 5 mm from that point. The spider will be just as linear as the surround.

So the overall design is linear up until right before things start crashing together //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
