X-over on an amp?

I got a new lightning audio amp for free and its louder than my current amp, it makes my head hurt, lol. Well anyways it has a new setting on it, x-over, which my old amp didnt. What is the purpose of this setting and what does it do?

it cuts the frequency at a certain point. if you set it at 80 hz. low pass, it cuts out all frequencies above 80 hz.

Well whatever setting on my deck is 80 cycles, so what should i put the x-over at?
