ok so i had my friends kenwood amp in rated at 1000 watts at 1 ohm.. 500 rms. but wen ever i set the gains up on the deck my boom was no longer or it would struggle and stutter. ... my other amp was a profile and it was rated at 1200 watts and i didnt have this problem. it was powering my 2 w3s. but my xxx was louder than my 2 w3s at like 700 watts or so. so my question is is it my alternator, my wires???.. o yea on the kenwood amp the wires were done hella ghetto installing onto the amp cuz it woudlnt fit. but xxx in 4 cubes tuned to 30 frikken slams good. Thanks for the help. and it really is needed. any input will help

Where is the gain on the amp and bass boost set? This is only a 500w amp, correct? What are you adjusting on the HU, the sub out level?

My guess......you are either clipping the amp and sending it into protection, or you have a bad ground.

bass boost zero. setting on hu negative 5... i have a kenwood excelleron hu. i think it mayb the ground now that i think of it...ill check up on it tommrow...thanks tho... but yea i think its time for a upgrade in alternator..
