I'm currently gauging interest about a possible trade of my 2 12" Alpine Type-X's ($500 each) dual 4 ohm wired to 1 ohm in box with or without my Powered4Sound snailshell ($300) made for them. I'm interested in a 1 sub setup preferably with box. These subs in this box is a bit much for me at the moment. Show me whatcha got fellas!!

Well I was hoping to save a little bit of space too. Plus the amp I have right now is only pushing 1100 watts (JBL bp1200.1). I don't want to under power them with this amp since my other one blew. I figured it might be easier to trade and run one sub (easy on the ears) that will handle the power instead of having to look and pay for another amp.

Since when is the JBL 1200.1 overrated? Its underrated my friend. That amp at 1 ohm is pushing around 1400 watts

Either way, it's not enough for 2 type-x's rated at 1k watts RMS each.

Drop down to two Type R's. I had two 12 R's that pounded and sounded good off my JBL 1200.1. Turn it down and they sound good that shouldnt be too loud with the volume down.

you could also keep one, and trade one to a box builder for a single box built to your choice specs. might be easier than shipping 2 subs and a box...
