WTT:Digital Designs Z1a (Not Working)

I have a Z1a that I recently bought from a friend. It was working fine on my DD 9512g (Dual 1 Ohm wired @ 2) until one day my fuses popped. I don't know what happened but I checked everything in my car to see if that was the problem but I found NOTHING. Then I opened up the amp and NOTHING was burnt, smelled bad or anything in that nature. So, I redid my wires and popped in another set of fuses and they pop again. This amp has never dipped below 13.3v so yeah. I'm pricing the repair right now, but if I can get a good trade offer then I might just let it go. It comes with the box and manual. I'll take new pics and I'll post em up later. Right now, I'm just looking for an amp that can drop down to .5 for burps and at least 2000+ rms @ 2 ohms. Not looking for anything else other then that. $350 for it? No thanx. I'd rather repair it and sell it for ~$1000. Used ones still go for $1000+ so if you find one for less then $1000, show it to me and I'll jump on it asap. Remember now, this isn't a Z1. Those were going for more then $350 blown. As for the Orion's, I'm not just gonna jump on it like that. I've had that amp before and it was great so I just wanna see if I can get something else that I haven't tried before. If I don't see anything I like then I'll just keep it. I'm not in a rush to get rid of this so don't be jumping down my throat because ONE good offer gets put on the table.

And you are right about the price, I was thinking of a Z1. But just a question, even after all the horror stories about these amplifiers why did you decide to buy one?

I dunno, I guess I'm a diehard DD fan. The first Z1 that I blew was my own fault, I didn't make the same mistake again though.

I don't think the Z1A has had many problems at all from what I've heard.. The Z1 had a problem when the voltage dropped. I have a Z1A and I've never had a problem with it. PM me your lowest price shipped to 40209. Thanks..

Bump this back up... I'm looking for something in the 3k-4k power range... Depending on your amp and condition I might be willing to throw down some cash, but rather do an even trade... Btw, this amp sells for roughly $1200 used and repairs should be roughly $200-$300 (Quote I got but I live Hawaii so price is ALWAYS cheaper in the Mainland)... Just to give you an idea of how much this amp should be worth...

if it is blown,amp repair center will charge you 300-450 to fix it.amp is worth 350.scott at ohio amp repair center has a z1a repaired for 750 plus shipping!
