I am reinstalling my mag/opti... and the reading's aren't making sense at all. I am re-setting the gains... and I'm only able to get 14 VAC out on the opti, at full gain (Yes this is in clipping territory... I have an oscilloscope)

According to the formula for wattage, P = I^2R... I am only getting 200w output. The mag is wired for 1 ohm. Measurement at the amp is a solid 14.4vdc.

My HU pre-outs are only capable of 2v. Sub is set to +1, volume to 45/62.

Does my HU **** that bad?

Opti is rated for 1600w @ 1 ohm.

you have it on Master, right?
also set your gain on vol 61/62, yes I have an oscope, yes I checked, that's where most pioneer's clip.
I'll go see what it'll do @ 61.

Hrmph... I forgot I was using a -6db tone. I meant to switch folders on the mp3 cd.

0db @ 28hz, 61/62, sub set to 0, gain at max (oops) it read 68v. Needless to say I turned it off real quick.

Theoretically, thats 4600w if it were to have a 1 ohm load on it. Oops.

Ah the power of oscilloscopes. Got everything tuned in, and **** does the mag blend perfectly.

Ended up with the volume to 50/62 for normal playing, 55/62 if I want it louder.

EQ settings (Very limited with this deck)

Low +6

Mid +1

High +1

Checked the RCA's, zero clipping. Ended up with the gains on both my amps lower than I had them setup previously. Opti's gain is a LOT lower now, probably ~20% outta 100%

The CDT's sound a lot better now also. Now that the RCA output voltage is higher, and the gain on the amp lower. Couldn't be happier. (Until I go active, of course //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif)

Set the gains on the mag for 34v, or 1150w.

also set your gain on vol 61/62, yes I have an oscope, yes I checked, that's where most pioneer's clip.
You were right.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif And a very odd circumstance I must say. 61/62, the sin wave was perfect. One more click to 62 and it clipped pretty bad.
