wtf is wrong

so when i first hooked up my amp to my speakers i could go full tilt on the volume and it would take it like a champ. now when i try to bump it the amp shuts off. but my amp for my subs keeps going? i dont think its the amp its self and i checked the remote wire to see if it were loose and it didnt seem like it was. would voltage drops shut the amp of but then when i lower the volume itll turn back on? any help from anyone. tomorrow in the morning im going to unhook it so wondering what i should be looking for

turn the gain back some and try again

i was thinking it could be the gain because the front gain is higher than the rear channels since i have some crappy 6x9s in the back just for fill. and the front channel gains are about 3/4 of the way if not just a tad less.
