WTF is wrong with my garage door

I know my sensors go out of line so often, and it's a pain in the ***. by holding the button you essentially bypass the sensors (not good if you have outdoor pets / small children, lol) and closes the garage whether something is in the way or not.
Most sensors have a status LED on them, make sure they are both on. If one is off or bother are off, make sure the plug is in securely and play with them until you get them aiming straight at each other.

ours turn green when its seeing each other

will recheck the sensors now,but last time this happened it was a loose connection I think

ok the 1 on the right is red and the 1 on the left is out, connections are secure.
ok, then it is probably un-aligned. I know mine the right one always stays on, but the left will turn off if it does not see the right one. Try lining them up, it can be a painful and time consuming process, but it's is probably your problem.

They get un-aligned with the slightest nudge, maybe you were moving something out of the garage and bumped it by accident, or one of your kids if you have any, etc.

fool with them and see if you can make the 1 red one turn green
I think his lights may just be red, if the one on the left is off i'd recommend trying to get the left to come on //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

1. My garage door will not go down using my transmitters. I can only get the door down by holding down on the wall button.

When the infra-red sensors are malfunctioning, usually one of the sensor lights will be blinking. The problem is either due to a blocked path between the sensors, dirty eyes, loose wires at the sensors or at the motor head, or just bad sensors. The transmitters (remotes) will not work to close the garage door. You will find that the door will only move an inch or so in the close direction and reverse. When this happens your garage door will only close by holding down on the wall button, or wall console, until the door fully closes. This method is the only way to override the safety and close the door.

To try and correct the problem, make sure the eyes on the sensors are clean, the wire connections are securely fastened at the sensors and motor head, and the eyes are directed at each other. Also, try unplugging the garage door opener and re-plugging the unit back into the outlet. This acts as a reset and may reset the sensors. If nothing works, it may be that you have to replace the sensors. You can find new sensors on our Web site in the category section or by going directly to Infra-Red Sensors.

I think the sensors need replacing after all,the red 1 is blinking but they are not misaligned as they are bolted down tight and the connections are tight as nat ****** so **** it ,it's 11 years old anyways so I have some company coming out Thursday to see about 1 of them roll up ones.

Update

1 night it works next night it doesn't so the tech. comes out and tells me about replacing the whole system 725.00 for new door but I need a new motor too so my choices are 200 for a good motor at sears, lowes etc and 50 bucks to install or buy their opener for 365 installed and eliminate the need for sensors forever since they use a sensorless system (supposed to be the only company in the world)basically is it worth the extra 115.00 for the sensorless system.
