WTF is wrong with my car?!

Alright... so when im sitting still, or coasting, my car sits at the 14.4v that it is supposed to. but as soon as i touch the gas it drops down into the high 12s? wtf is going on?

Thats what i was thinking... either the alt is starting to go, or it is the regulator

I'm guessing bad regulator. btw, have you verified this with a DMM or is this a stock dash gauge reading? Because those aren't that trustworthy, especially on older cars.

actually it being a honda i can bet its an ELD sensor holding the voltage

ive got a stinger voltage meter installed... but it seems like the problem isnt consisten, and when ever i try and check it with my DMM it wont do it =/

From reading online it looks like the ELD is an on going issue from the beginning of the life of the car. Not something that just randomly started happening recently. and the problem is not consistent. it doesnt do it everytime.

it restrics the power the alt puts out during revs/driving. to ''save'' gas...h/o alt wont do much with this still going from what ive seen/read

did you just get a volt meter? it took me 2 years WITH a volt meter to find out i was dropping volts while driving.....
