i had a solid audio amp connected to my 12w7 then one day i disconnected the rca because i wasnt getting any bass and it snapped....then after that i reran new rcas and it kept going into protection making a weird sound...So i ordered this cadence ZRS10..i hook it up and it goes straight into protection also. So i disconnect the speaker wires...still in protection then i disconnect both rcas and its still in protection and its making a similar sound....What the heck is wrong? Im no audio pro so should i just take it to a local shop to do? Or is there anyway i can figure out whats wrong

ddm the coils on the sub....and check the wiring in the box...better yet check all wiring...your first amp is most likely blown...amps don't make sound when everythings 100%

perhaps the ground is bad! Does it just start in protect, or does it click into protect? Get a multimeter and check the coils on the sub/subs, also check the connections on the subs (wire going into the terminals) perhaps 1 slipped out...

well i turn the key on to position 2 and it give the amp power, when i get to it in the trunk its in protect. Even with the subs disconnected speaker wires not hooked up to the amplifier it still does that...i think it has to be something with the car because i ordered a planet audio amp and it did the same shit just went into protect....what would happen if i only put the 12v power wire in the amp and not the ground and started the car? would that not be a good idea for the amp?

I think your ground is bad, because both amps did the same thing, you wont get a green light without a good ground and thats a common mistake, also you DONT WANT TO have power to the amp when you dont have a ohm load connected to it, thats a HUGE NO NO that blows amps as well

Well you could save yourself money and do it right yourself, because shops normally tend to charge ALOT for simple jobs, thats how they make their money, if you need help doing it right, read tutorials and ask for help before tackling a task of this caliber, when you know little to nothing about doing it, those 2 tools of information alone will help you progress in knowledge of the car audio world.
