Wtf is going on?

I was gonna say it sounds like the alternator, but after uve said that about the battery (which i didnt know about) i have a question:

I've got a 1980 Volkswagen Polo L, its got a tiny battery and the only real electricals it powers is the lights, 1 8W speaker, an basic 1980 incar radio, and 1 20W light in the car..

I'm currently installing 2 x 500W 4 ohm 200W RMS 6x9s & a 30Wx4 Pioneer DEH-890 CD tuner.. u rekon theres a good chance it will be ok with it connected?

Gotta be the battery, the car would not be able to drive home after a jump if the alternator went out.
